Join me this September for a relaxed public workshop in Cadaqués. We will paint this lovely harbour street with the white Church of Santa Maria glowing above the town. The aim is a strong, simple painting with lively brushwork and clean whites.

Our focus will be light and shade, perspective, arches and balconies. We will plan a clear value map, lay a big soft wash for the shady left side, and keep the church and sky as our lightest lights. The road and zebra crossing will guide the eye using simple one point perspective. I will show how to simplify the arches and balconies into big shapes first, then add a few crisp darks for railings and lamps. Expect tips on timing, soft and hard edges, and how to keep it loose.
