The River Windrush on a frosty morning.  An exercise in values.  Light of course in the background and trees get darker in value to the foreground.

My favourite aspect, contre jour and painting against the light.  Yate Rocks again, near me, and a view up the road back into Yate from the river.  This semi lockdown has a nice effect of making me think more about local subjects.  How many great paining opportunities are there within a mile or two of your home, or even your garden (if you are lucky to have one)?

Sherston, UK, Watercolour, 15" x 11"

A third painting from my summer day trip to local village Sherston.  Love the bunting out in the street and a great tool to link two sides of the street from a composition point of view.  I normally avoid painting cars side on, but here I think it works by not making a big feature of them with all the trimmings and wheel arches and so on.

Iron Acton, UK, 15" x 11"

I took a few photos very quickly of a local village to me in the UK, Iron Acton, and this was an outcome of one of those photos.  I liked the steps, a little light hitting the tops and the old stone wall.  The shadows were going in the right direction as well.
