Demo painting - Maine fishing harbour
Nov 02, 2017
Maine, USA, 15" x 11"
A demo workshop painting based on a reference photo of a fishing harbour in Maine. I thought the scene made for a good composition - a left and right frame with the buildings, not too symmetrical, a row of boats leading the eye up the scene into the background. The buildings on the left had some dry brush strokes applied and different hues to give it an aged look. Also the lobster pots in the foreground had to be simplified so as not to draw too much attention.
