Woolacombe Bay Hotel, Devon
May 07, 2014
Landscape Watercolour of Woolacombe, 15" x 11".
An old Victorian hotel on the north coast of Devon UK, with its wooden timbers on the facade and numerous turrets and roof structures. The Atlantic ocean is out to the right, beyond a long sandy beach. I'm not sure what I was intending to be the focal point, but my eyes keep heading towards that lady's floppy hat. A 'sword' brush was used for the cedar tree.

Yes, the lady in the hat. I love your darks, do you use lamp black in your dark greens?

I use neutral tint Doug, mixed with another colour. Rarely on it's own.
