Eymet, France, Watercolour, 15" x 11"
The sky is normally the first thing I paint, but not with this one. I wanted to go for a deep blue sky, darker in value than the buildings. So I painted the buildings and foreground first, then went in with my dark blue sky, carefully painting around the outline of the tops of roofs. It sort of worked.
I did a video of this. Is it worth putting it up on YouTube?
Painted on Saunders Waterford, Cold Press, 300 gms.
