Malmesbury, UK, 15" x 11"
A plein air sketch done in the centre of Malmesbury in Wiltshire. A pretty market town, I found myself a shady spot right on the pavement and just painted what I saw. So quite a loose one, a fellow artist commented - "people won't understand the marks you made there" and what watercolour was doing with these blooms. I quite like it myself. It's the wonder of waterolour. Some may try and avoid them or hide them - I like them.
Painted on Saunders Waterford, Cold Press, 300 gms
