Landscape Watercolour of Madrid, 15" x 11".
Just off Plaza Oriente in central Madrid and a narrow side street looking against the sun. The wash of sky and foreground was done all at once, painting around the red roof and the taxi. Then the darks went in with the building in shadows and the building right. Then the figures, bollards and shadow under the car. Last were the highlights and tree branches at the top of the picture.
