St Raphael, France, 15" x 11"
St Raphael on the South coast of France. Boatyards make for very interesting painting subjects - also great if you like boats but are reluctant to do water reflections! With so many white yachts here, we have to have a darker background (for example some mountains or buildings). Plus these scenes desperately need some people otherwise they can look a little spooky and deserted.

St Raphael! Spent some happy days there some 45 years ago whilst on a slow tour (4 months) along the whole Mediterranean Coast in an old van!
