Here was a quick exercise I did on some watercolour paper (qtr sheet, split into 4) in creating soft waves. Things I was practicing was
- What's the best brush
- Timing of dry time of the initial wash before laying down the waves
- Colour combination of wash and waves
The left hand two were done with cobalt blue and burnt sienna, my normal combination. Note some of the waves, the colours are separating. So the right hand two were done with Cobalt blue and neutral tint: A much better duo, producing a smother effect. Brush used was a medium sized Raphael mop (synthetic hairs, but very soft) and applied almost with the side of the brush.

Thank you for the great tuition. I value your knowledge.
