Another view of Chipping Sodbury High Street at the lower end of town, looking towards the 'Portcullis Hotel & Pub' (middle of painting) with the late afternoon sunshine coming across. The High Street remains unchanged with many old buildings 3 or 4 hundred years old and whilst not made of Cotswold stone, they have that same cosy look and feel.

The top of the High Street in my nearby town of Chipping Sodbury, and 'Gillys' Wine and Tapas bar on the right. Yes, a sleepy market town in the Costwolds can have a Tapas bar if it wants! Well the old building was previously a not so busy office stationary supplier and had been for sale for many years, so it's being put to much better use now!

It's been a while since I posted a Cotswolds painting, and this is of an old tree last winter near where I live. Well it could be a tree anywhere I suppose in the depths of winter, but I tried to capture a sense of the chilling temperatures on the side of a frosted field, and the low angle of the sun just about to disappear.

Hidden cottage scenes like this are all over the place just north of me with their characteristic sandy ochre coloured walls.
