Porthleven, England, 22" x 15".

A plein air painting done on a cold but sunny October day.  I didn't have any issue with the paint drying too quickly!  This is a view of the harbour at low tide looking towards the entrance, lit up with the sunlight coming from the left.  The first wash went over the whole area except for the boats.  Then when this was dry I loosely painted in the background buildings and harbour wall, again painting around the boats.  Next was the foreground, leaving out the channel of water.  Last were the boats, their shadows and then the figure (and dog).
