South Stoke, Bath, 22" x 15"
A demonstration painting for the South Stoke Art Group. A nice view of the old Parish Church. It was an overcast day (even rained during the early stages when I took shelter under the lychgate) but I decided to brighten it up a bit with some light and shadows. This was one of the first paintings done on some very old 'T H Saunders' watercolour paper I have acquired. This old paper is quite creamy in colour and 'NOT' surface, so not so rough as I'm used to!

I have learned so much while viewing your work over the past couple of months. Your archives are especially helpful. I can see the progress you have made as an artist and it has encouraged me greatly to hope that with constant work, I might also improve. Your work is really an inspiration. Good art work doesn't need the "grand" view - but a good painting can be made looking about one's everyday environment. Thank you Tim!
