Cala Mijas, Spain, 'loose style'

Cala Mijas, Spain, 15" x 11".

A summer scene of a street leading off central Cala Mijas on the Costa del Sol.  I tried to make a conscious effort here to go as loose as I could in style, done mainly by setting a time limit for the whole painting, using a limited palette of colours (about 4) and holding the brush high up so as not to make edges too precise.  I think I spent most time on the palm tree at the end - fairly thick dark mix and a dragging movement with a synthetic brush to create the leaf shapes.
