A sun soaked Avenida da Republica, running next to the marina in Faro. It's a lovely wide boulevard lined with palm trees and typical colonial buildings, and a perfect setting for views out to the Ria Formosa Nature Reserve. Large birds such as storks are a common sight and often build their nests on the bell towers of churches.
