Teguise, Lanzarote is the ancient capital of Lanzarote island. Built centuries ago, inland from the coast to protect it from pirates and invaders. It's most famous now for the Sunday Market, one of the main tourist attractions on the island. Thousands descend on the town from all corners of the island to pick up a bargain or just do some people watching.
