Puerto Del Carmen Lanzarote - Calle Timanfaya

Original Watercolour 12" x 10"

Puerto Del Carmen was the original resort in Lanzarote, and probably now the largest, sprawling several miles along the west coast up to the island's Airport.  It's great to take a stroll up the long promenade, lined by over 100 restaurants offering all sorts of cuisine from the UK, Ireland, Spain, Mexico, China and Japan!

Corralejo Fuerteventura

A short ferry trip from the southern tip of Lanzarote (Playa Blanca) takes you to the northern tip of Fuerteventura and the tourist resort of Corralejo.  This is the main street in Corralejo looking up towards the local Lidl store.  Yes, Lidl seem to be everywhere.  The main beach would be just to the left about 100 yards away.  Very windy when I was there, to the delight of the wind surfers in the bay.

Teguise Lanzarote

Original Watercolour 12" x 10"

Teguise, Lanzarote is the ancient capital of Lanzarote island.  Built centuries ago, inland from the coast to protect it from pirates and invaders.  It's most famous now for the Sunday Market, one of the main tourist attractions on the island.  Thousands descend on the town from all corners of the island to pick up a bargain or just do some people watching.

Foster Place Dublin

Original Watercolour 12" x 10"

Foster Place looking towards College Green Dublin, with the Parliament buildings just to the left.  Apparently this street is favoured for filming period dramas because of it's cobbled surface (and it's also a cul-de-sac).  It's also home to the Wax Museum.

Guilvinec Rue de la Marine

Original Watercolour 10" x 8"

Rue de la Marine is one of the main streets in this busy little seaside port in Brittany.  Just to the right of the picture is the popular Olivier bar/restaurant selling it's range of crepes or thin pancakes.  Crepes are served with a range of fillings.  The traditional crepe recipe from Brittany simply includes flour, eggs, milk and melted butter since in past times these pancakes used to be the main meal in the Brittany countryside.  Only problem with these thin crepes - one is not enough!

Puerto del Carmen Old Harbour #Lanzarote

Original Watercolour 12" x 9"

The harbour area in the old part of Puerto del Carmen.  Despite being a major resort location in Lanzarote, it still shows it's old charm of a sleepy fisherman's harbour.  The Casa Rosa Restaurant is just to the right of this picture and just behind, a fantastic Tapas bar frequented by locals and visitors alike.  This part of Puerto del Cramen never seems to change over the years.
